I have seen a taller sun!

Eu vi um sol mais alto!

Without much in the way of warning — a brief flare of light, a shiver of ecstasy, an unbearable feeling of epiphany — Leland was whisked millions of miles in the wrong direction across the interstellar void, leaving his body heavy and tenantless on the green sward of his native Virginia.

“I say, I say, I say,” he said, when he came to rest at last on the queerly red sward of the Red Planet. “Ow.” As an afterthought, he added, “Boy.”

He went for a walk, because he was naked and that seemed like an undignified position for the scion of a noble lineage. “Now looky here,” he said, his voice bouncing off the massive trees towering thousands of feet above his head. “Pay attention when I’m talkin’ to you, boy, always runnin’ off at the mouth like that, how d’you ever expect to learn anything when it’s always yak, yak, yak? I say, I say, I say, you can’t just pick a fellah up like that without so much as a by-your-leave, it just isn’t done. Y’hear me? Not done, I say.”

There was a rustling in the eldritch undergrowth and a mighty four-armed white ape came forth and bellowed at Leland. “Well, now,” he said. “Yes, yes.”

And like that it was upon him!
